Busy Butterflies – Our Background & Role

Busy Butterflies Education and Care Service proudly opened its doors in March 2018. Our coordination unit is built on a foundation of extensive experience in the Family Day Care sector, brought together by a shared passion for delivering high-quality education and care. We are dedicated to supporting families and children through nurturing, child-safe home environments that promote learning, growth, and wellbeing.

At Busy Butterflies, we believe that strong partnerships with educators, families, children, and the wider community are essential. These collaborative relationships are at the heart of our approach, helping us create responsive, inclusive, and supportive learning environments where every child is valued and their individual development is prioritised.

Our core role is to guide and mentor our Educators, supporting them in delivering enriching early learning experiences tailored to each child’s unique needs. We are also committed to ensuring that all care environments meet the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and educational quality.

Our Coordination Unit’s Role

At Busy Butterflies Education and Care Service, our Coordination Unit plays a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality, inclusive, and child-safe education and care.

Our primary responsibility is to ensure that all Educators provide nurturing, safe, and developmentally appropriate learning environments for children. We work closely with Educators to ensure compliance with the National Quality Framework, including the Early Years Learning Framework, My Time, Our Place (School Age Framework), Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, and the National Quality Standards, as well as our own service policies and procedures.

Our Coordination Unit:

• Mentors and supports Educators with their programs, environments, and practices.
• Collaborates with Educators to maintain and improve the quality of care and education.
• Monitors safety and wellbeing to ensure children are always in safe, supportive settings.
• Guides Educators in achieving positive learning outcomes for all children.

In addition to supporting Educators, we are also here to assist families by:

• Guiding them through the enrolment process and setting up fee payments.
• Helping families find the right Educator to suit their child’s needs.
• Supporting smooth transitions into care for children.
• Providing regular updates on children’s progress and sharing service information, including policies, procedures, and monthly newsletters.

We also value strong partnerships with families. We encourage family involvement in our service practices by:

• Inviting feedback on policies and procedures.
• Creating opportunities for families to contribute to their child’s learning and development.
• Promoting open, respectful communication between families and Educators.

Together, we work to ensure every child receives the care, support, and education they need to thrive.
