Busy Butterflies background: our role

Busy Butterflies Education and Care Service opened in March 2018. Our coordination unit shares years of experience in the Family Day Care industry, from parents to educators then on to roles in coordination units.

Our shared passion for Family Day Care and providing quality education and care services to families and children lead us to opening our own service.

We believe our team environment and partnering with educators and families will provide the best outcomes for children.

Coordination Unit role:

The primary role of the coordination unit staff is ensuring that Educators provide an inclusive, nurturing and learning environment for children. They have a responsibility to ensure educators are following the National Quality Framework: Early Years Learning Framework, Basing their practices on the National Quality Standards and following the Education and Care National Law and national regulations.

The Coordination Unit will check the safety of the home during all visits, ensure the Educators are following the Busy Butterflies education and Care Service Policies and procedures. The Coordination Unit works with educators to ensure they reflect and document on the education and care provided and the learning experiences for children, identify the areas of improvement and work in collaboration with all stakeholders to achieve the quality learning outcomes for all children accessing the Family Day Care Service.

The Coordination Unit is there to assist families in the enrolment process, finding a suitable educator to meet their needs of their family and child, supporting the transition into care for the child updates to the family in regards to how care is progressing and supplying families with information in regards to the service: policies and procedures and monthly newsletters.

The Coordination unit will encourage families to have an input into the services practices with opportunities to review polices and practices, and having an input into their child’s education and care.
